The 2024 Recipients Of The Louise Bailey Webb Scholarship At Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church
Two outstanding high school graduates and members of Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church are congratulated as this year’s recipients of the Louise Bailey Webb Scholarship. They are Allison Hadley and Jaiden Hawkins. Both are active in the youth ministry of the church, in addition to having outstanding accomplishments during high school.
Allison Hadley is a May graduate of Westover High School and was within the top ten of her class. She was dually enrolled at Albany State University from which she earned an Associate Degree in Biological Science. Allison was a member of the National Honor Society and Beta Club all four years of high school and served as president of the Beta Club her senior year. Miss Hadley plans to continue her education at Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama where she will pursue the study of Biology.
Jaiden Hawkins is a May graduate of Lee County High School where he ranked in the top 5% of his class. He was a dual enrollment student at Georgia Southwestern State University where he received the honor of being placed on the President’s List (Fall term 2023). Other honors included Georgia Certificate of Merit, Induction into the National Technical Honor Society, The National Society of High School Scholars, and National Honor Society. Mr. Hawkins will attend Kennesaw State University and intends to study the field of Biology with a concentration in human health.
The scholarship is in memory of Mrs. Webb. She was a devoted member of Second Mt. Zion and a retiree of the Dougherty County School System. She was a strong advocate for education and the pursuit of excellence. Her children and supporters are sponsoring this annual scholarship through the church as a tribute to her legacy. Reverend Theodus Drake serves as Pastor of Second Mount Zion.
